What should your glucose levels be? Here’s the ultimate guide to healthy blood sugar ranges (Levels Health) – [Link] – 4/15/2020
As someone who is participating in the Levels trial, I’ve been really spending considerable time attempting to understand their process around blood glucose and metabolic health. Levels takes a different approach in determining the target ranges for fasting glucose levels, post-meal glucose levels, and 24 hour average glucose levels, which is in contradiction with the established metrics of the medical community. This article does a great job of explaining the various glucose target levels, provides references to research, and overall is a good primer for anyone wanting to understand blood glucose and getting started with Levels.
How much water should we actually drink? (Meinders) – [Link] – 3/16/2010
This was the key article I used in order to establish how much actual water I should be consuming on a daily basis. Given that I had a couple of biomarkers (blood urea nitriogen [BUN] & creatinine) that suggested that I might be dehydrated, I sought out a definitive resource so as to establish a baseline. The article stated “a total of 3 l/day for men and 2.2 l/day for women in practice amounts to 1-1.5 l of pure water (tap water or bottled water).
